Virtual Worlds : What Makes A Good And Or A Great Game : Can Linden Lab Pull It Off ?

By Avatar JayR Cela

So what is it that really sets one virtual world game apart from the other ?

#1 It has to grab ya right away, I figure 2 or 3 minutes, and either it remains on your HD, or you blast it into oblivion, and delete it.

I got a lot of free time on my hand's, and for one reason or another seem to be obsessed with finding the ultimate Virtual World game. The main criteria ?  Is it addictive ? Do you want to return and try to uncover that elusive clue in order to progress to the next level. If the answer to this is Yes, then you have a truly great game.

#2 Can your PC hardware handle it ? There is nothing worse than a over bloated piece of garbage software that requires you to possess the most expensive computer you can buy.

#3 You can't wait to get back and play it again

The original Legend of Zelda, and Diablo are two examples of perfection in the computer gaming world, once your hooked, that's it, your hooked.

Now that my health is back to somewhat normal, I have some plan's for this blog that I hope will encourage people to keep on reading the post's published here.

So can Linden Lab pull it off ? Yes I believe they can, if and only if they get the F*** out of the way and turn it completely over to the Open Source community.

Donating a few Sim's to the most promising In-World game developers would be a good place to start.

As always, thank you for reading.
